Checking for Java

CXQ requires java to work. While java is installed in most new computers, it may happen that your computer does not have java yet.

If your computer supports java, you should see a board game. If it does not support java, you will be prompted to download and install java. If you still have problem, you can download and install java from http://java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en&host=java.com:80

No Java support for APPLET!!

You can also download java version 6 update 10 for Windows here jre-6u10-windows-i586-p-s.exe (16Mb).

Still unable to play at CXQ after installing java?

If you are using IE (Internet Explorer), make sure that in menu Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, the setting for Java (Sun) if available has a check mark for "Use JRE xxx for <applet>". Changing this setting in IE requires a computer restart.

If you are using Firefox, make sure that in menu Tools, Options, Content tab, there is a check mark on "Enable Java".

In general, try to revert any changes you made to the configuration of your browser.
